

VEGETABLE TEMPURA
SERVES: 2-3

INGREDIENTS

DIPPING SAUCE

100ml water

½ tsp Spiral Instant Vegan Dashi

1Tbsp Spiral Mirin
-
2Tbsp Spiral Genuine Tamari
TEMPURA
-
½ red onion, sliced thinly
-
1/3 carrot chopped into strips
-
1-2 mushrooms, sliced thinly
-
¼C baby rocket
-
3Tbsp Casalare Tempura Flour
-
5Tbsp water
-
oil for frying
DIRECTIONS

In a small saucepan, add water, dashi powder, mirin and tamari. Bring to a boil over medium heat for about 1 minute.

In a large bowl, add all the kakiage vegetables and mix well.

Sprinkle and coat with 1Tbsp of flour.

In a medium bowl, add the remaining 2Tbsp of flour and water and mix well.

Add the tempura vegetables and roughly mix them with batter.

Heat oil in a small pan to 170C.

Take a scoop of the mixture with a wood spatula and slip into the oil.

Deep-fry until browned on both sides.

Drain and serve with dipping sauce. Enjoy!
